Lake Country Judo will be hosting the annual “Okanagan Open” Novice tournament (orange belt and under) and Kata Clinic here in the Okanagan on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at The Winfield Memorial Hall (10130 Bottom Wood Lake Rd. Lake Country, BC - (CHANGE OF VENUE THIS YEAR!! PLEASE TAKE NOTE!!).
BRAND NEW FOR THIS YEAR!!! WE WILL HAVE A KATA CLINIC IMMEDIATLEY FOLLOWING THE MINI-TOURNAMENT!!
From approximately 1pm-5pm, we are honoured to have John Morris (chair of the Kata Committee) and his family up here to demo and teach Nage-no-Kata (for those of any belt interested in the Kata that it takes to earn a black belt!) AND an intro to Kodomo-no-Kata (which is the Kids Kata!) ($35 to enter this as well)
SATURDAY MARCH 28/26:
9:00-9:15am: Registration & Organization
9:15 – 9:30: Bow-in and Warm-up
9:45-10:45: Kodomo-no-Kata demonstration and participation
10:45 - 1pm: Round robin randori’s (matches)
1:00 pm to 5:00 PM Nage-no-Kata Clinic
