The Regina Y Judo Club in conjunction with the Moose Jaw Koseikan Judo Club are hosting a
Novice U16, Senior and Open Ne-Waza Competition

Eligibility:
All athletes must be registered and in good standing with Judo Sask. Athletes must be born in 2010 or older
Cost:
$20 first division / $15 second division
Registration:
Deadline is Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 9 p.m.
Start Time:
Check In 9:00am - 10:00am
Competition starts at 10:15am
Weigh In:
There will be no official weigh in. Weights must be submitted online during the registration process on Trackie. Weight should be recorded wearing judogi pants and t-shirt.
Categories:
The tournament director reserves the right to make any changes necessary in the best interest of the athletes.
Ne Waza:
U16 (born 2009-2010) – white to orange/green belt
•Divisions will be based on entries, closest weights.
•Matches will be 3 minutes, stop time with scoring.
•Judo Canada Ne-Waza Rules will apply
Senior (born 2009 and older) – white belt and up
•Light, Medium and Heavy divisions, based on registrations
•Matches will be 3 minutes, stop time with scoring.
•Judo Canada Ne-Waza Rules will apply
Tachi Waza:
U16 (born 2009-2010) – yellow to orange/green belt
•Divisions will be based on entries, closest weights.
•Matches will be 3 minutes, stop time with scoring.
Senior (born 2009 and older) – yellow to blue belt
•Divisions will be based on entries, closest weights.
•Matches will be 3 minutes, stop time with scoring.
Order of competition:
Ne Waza U16 and Senior followed by Tachi Waza U16 and Senior
Tournament Guidelines:
•Modified Judo Canada rules to be used.
•Members must be in good standing with Judo Saskatchewan.
•The tournament committee reserves the right to make changes in the best interest of the athletes.
•Age and divisions may be combined if unsuitable numbers of athletes are registered in a division.
•There will be no shime waza or kansetsu waza in any match where either competitor is less than a green belt.
•All competitors must have a white judogi. All judogis must be regulatory size.
•No use of bleeding dyes on the body or hair of competitors is allowed. In cases such use is undetected and results in damage to the equipment of the opponent or the tatami, the competitor will be disqualified and the member will be charged for the damage.
•Females must wear a plain white short-sleeved rounded-neck shirt under their judogi.
•Hair must be worn up above the shoulders (male & female), hair bands can not contain any metal.
•All piercings and jewelry must be removed.
There will be a concession on site operated by the Koseikan Parents Group.
As there are members with severe food allergies, please do not bring outside food into the dojo.
